In 1977, we basically rescued our first Yorkshire Terrier. Our Bonnie Blue was a year old, matted to the skin, with toenails growing into the pads of her feet. Since I had been a big dog person and done Obedience with Collies, and my very first show dog was a bouncing Bearded Collie, I really had no idea what to do with this sad little creature. Not knowing where to start, I took her to a groomer, expecting that they would have to shave her naked to get her in some kind of condition. What came home was a beautiful little dog with long silky hair, a topknot, and attitude!! And the rest they say is history!! We have dedicated our lives to raising the very best quality dogs that was possible. We have been rewarded by being able to watch the many generations of MARYDON Yorkshire Terriers grow up. We are a small, private, home based kennel. Our dogs are pets first, and show dogs second.Over the years, we have acquired a large number of friends who initially came to us to buy a dog, and have remained as friends. We have been fortunate to have our share of wins in the ring and have the respect of our peers. Our bloodlines are a blending of Yorkboro and Pastoral.
